Support the UNLV chapter of the Scientista Foundation by becoming a member!
With the membership fee, UNLV Scientista will be able to fund all club related expenditures. Members will be able to participate in all Scientista events, enjoy all our resources, be eligible for scholarships, and join committees/the executive board. Members will also receive a discount and have the ability to apply for travel grants for the annual National Scientista Symposium and/or other related conferences.
We hold one general meeting a month during the Spring and Fall semesters at UNLV. As long as you attend at least three of those meetings you will be considered a member. The requirement will reset at the beginning of every Fall semester. Members who are unable to meet this requirement due to classes scheduled at the same time as the meeting can contact the President.
We offer volunteer hours for several of our events throughout the semester. Each member of UNLV Scientista is required to complete 5 approved volunteer hours a semester, for a total of 10 hours each year. This requirement will reset at the beginning of each fall semester.

In order to receive a graduation cord to present and represent UNLV Scientista at graduation, members must attain a good standing membership with the organization for the two years, prior to their graduation date. A good standing membership would include as follows:
Members will receive their graduation cord if they have completed at least 20 approved volunteer hours within the two years prior to their graduation date. Hours do not roll over from years before or from semesters before.
Members will receive their graduation cord if they have also attended at least 6 general meetings within the two years prior to their graduation date. Meetings do not roll over as well.
Finally, a member will receive their graduation cord if they have paid their membership dues prior to their graduation date.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and help seal the leaky pipeline.
