How to become a member
Step 1: Fill out the Scientista Membership Application
Step 2: Pay our one-time membership fee
All members must pay a one time membership fee.
The fee is either:
- $20 - For membership only
- $30 - For membership fee plus Scientista t-shirt

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.

Step 3: Accept our invitation via the UNLV Involvement Center
Once we receive your membership dues and application, we will send you an invite via the UNLV Involvement Center website. Once you accept, you will be officially added to our roster as a Scientista member!

General Membership Requirements
All members must
- Attend at least three general meetings per year (restarts in the fall semester)
- Pay the one time membership fee of $20, $30 for membership fee plus UNLV Scientista shirt
- Complete at least five officially approved and logged Scientista Service Hours that must be approved by the President. These hours will be available for several events mentioned throughout the semester.
Graduation Cord Requirements
In order for a member to receive their official Scientista cord to wear at graduation, they must complete the following requirements over a time period of TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS straight:
- Complete 20 Approved Scientista Hours (5 each semester)
- Attend a total of 6 General Meetings
- At least 3 meetings per academic year
- Paid One Time Membership Fee
*Please note that Scientista Hour requirements do not carry over.
If membership requirements are not met, but a member has paid their dues, they are able to still remain a member, however they are ineligible to receive a graduation cord.
